Pisa Pizza!
The infamous Leaning Tower of Pisa sounds like such a gimmicky tourist trap. So it leans. What’s the big deal?
Well, we visited today, and it was awesome. We spent a good four hours there. The tower is actually just a bell tower that is part of the Square of Miracles which includes a cathedral, a cool round baptistry, a cemetery (which is really a super nice building, not a graveyard), and a museum or three. The buildings are all white marble and really quite beautiful. And there was GRASS, something that we have not really seen in 7 weeks. So we grabbed some Pizza and ate it in front of the tower of Pisa on the beautiful green lawn.
And of course we had to take lots of photos of us pushing over the tower
and saving the tower
or playing with the model in the museum
Then we had pancakes at the Secret View Cafe which really was quite a secret. It’s in the Opera Duomo Museum which had some really cool artifacts like the statues and marble inlays from the church that you can see up close.
We had some really nice private views of the tower, so it didn’t feel touristy at all.
And we also saw the Cathedral which was very tall inside with a beautiful ceiling.
and this cool building
which makes a nice hat
