The morning after Hohenschwangau, we drive to Linderhof Palace. This palace was King Ludwig II’s private palace in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps, where he lived most of the time, since he did not like to be near people. Surprisingly, the palace was very small, being only about 30 by 27 meters, unlike his
other palaces. Unsurprisingly though, all the rooms were really beautifully decorated with gold, silver, porcelain, ivory, gemstones, and other valuable items, as well as many paintings and mirrors. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos, and so we had to take pictures from the books in the gift store.
After the tour of the palace, we walk out into the large garden and see the nicely arranged plants and hedges, as well as both the Neptune and Flora and Putten fountains, where we find that the Flora and Putten fountains goes up every 30 mins, and when it goes, it is like a geyser, shooting water many meters high!

Then we eat some food, and finally continue to the Venus grotto, which is completely man-made. By the time we get there, there is still a wait until the next tour. We wait, and after a while, we can go inside. Unfortunately, the tour was not in English, and we had to read about the grotto on Papa Bear’s phone. Luckily, you were allowed to take pictures in this attraction, so we did not have to use the gift shop books.
The cave was wondrous, with red lights glowing out of all the nooks. In the middle, there was a small lake with a very small, but beautiful, boat shaped like a shell. That was before the show. The guide then pressed a button, and all of a sudden, boom! The lights are changing color, there is a small projected rainbow, and a waterfall has started!!!
