After visiting the Georgia Aquarium, we decided we must also see the largest in the world in Singapore. We recently had the chance to visit the S.E.A Aquarium in Singapore, the largest in the world, with almost 12 million gallons and 100,000 animals. It’s located on Sentosa where many attractions, resorts and casinos are co-located in one Vegas-like mini-town.

Having visited Georgia Aquarium and Monterey Bay Aquarium before, we’d say S.E.A is still worth visiting. S.E.A stands for South-east Asia. So the animals on display are all from this region. No whale sharks are on display here, though there are 3 manta rays who perform regular dances in their largest tank. There are many medium sized tanks with beautiful coral and fish displays, and smaller tanks showing off other interesting marine life. Despite our extensive marine life viewing, we did find new species to ogle at this aquarium. We went near Halloween, and so there are some added skeleton and pumpkin displays to help the fish celebrate.
The cost is ~$35 US per Adult. Pay with MasterCard if you can to get 15% off the ticket price. We didn’t notice this discount anywhere else in Singapore, though many places take only MasterCard and not Visa.
For lunch or dinner at $5 per meal, definitely stop by the Malaysian Food Street just a 5 minute walk away. It’s all indoors and air conditioned, but they dressed the place up as if you’re on a real street.
